We wanted the students’ final projects to reflect an area of interest for them that was explored in a way that would be useful to others. We explained to the students that their final projects would be made accessible to the wider public because we would create a website/webpage that had information about the course (syllabus, activities, etc.). We wanted to share our work to others who might be interested in teaching such a course as well as for those who are interested in exploring the topic on their own or in informal learning/study groups. While we gave the students some ideas, they were able to decide on the topic and format with feedback from us and their peers. The final projects ranged from children’s books to teachers’ newsletters to book guides. As with other course resources, we welcome all of you to adapt and use these materials as they make sense for your context--we just ask that you give the individual student credit as well as the course if you decide to use materials from their final projects.
