Bringing your whole, true self to work each day isn't just something you do for yourself, it's an essential part of how and why DEI works in a large company.
Participating in Business Resource Groups, team discussions, and large discussion opportunities allows you to find and use your voice.
The work you will do on the council will affect thousands of people who call Cardinal home - from Residents to your fellow teammates.
The commitment needed comes atop your normal job functions. It's a passion project that can take time away from your team and the people you care about.
The commitment is high, but the return is limitless.
Begin to develop your voice by asking:
"Why is DEI important in a professional and personal setting?"
"Who is not already represented by the council and why?"
"When and why is it important for me to engage in the context of DEI?"
The impact potential of the DEI council is limitless. With no playbook or established norms however, it's up to each of us to seek out and master the information and initiatives that change lives.
With the ability to educate ourselves comes the responsibility to educate others. The council allows you the forum to share what you learn.
