MANINDAHAN TA! STREET MARKET AT ROXAS CITY

CAPSU ABI and ATBI offices visited the "Manindahan Ta, Street Market" organized by the Capiz Provincial Tourism and Cultural Office last February 28, 2022 at Capiz Provincial Park.

The said activity gathered start-up businesses to display their respective products and for potential partnerships as well. This is one way of proving that Capiz products can compete nationally and globally with the help of the right people in the industry.

Coconut Food and Beverage Processors of Burias is an official member of the ABI Project under CAPSU-DA-BAR participated in the event to showcase the pride of Burias, Mambusao with their flavored panutsa.

There will be more of this in the coming days and we hope that we will continue to support our Agripreneurs and Farmers. We will continue to campaign #SupportLokal #BakalLokal because through these initiatives, we help one another grow and succeed!

BENCHMARKING AT ILOILO

The CAPSU ABI team also visited the Mushroom Production of Department of Agriculture – VI WESVIARC last May 31, 2022.

The purpose of the visit was to link ABI incubatees to potential partnership especially those who are into mushroom production. Mr. Francis Capino – the Mushroom Project Coordinator, together with Ms. Myrtle Ferasol, welcomed and toured everyone in their facilities and research equipment.

𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑺𝑼 𝑨𝑩𝑰 𝒘𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝑶𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝑽𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒚

CAPSU ABI Project Team and Incubatees visited the beautiful farm of Orchard Valley last May 31, 2022 for a Benchmarking and Learning Visit activity. The visit was made possible by the approval of Mr. Arch Johhny Que, President of Orchard Valley.

The team was welcomed by the very accommodating manager of the farm, - Ma’am Lily Maligaya. Together with the CAPSU team were the faculty and researchers from West Visayas State University. The said visit was also an opportunity for great-minded people to collaborate and connect with each other. Ma'am Maligaya, in her welcome remarks, said that it is sometimes tiring to engage in agriculture; however, it is rewarding in a way that you help yourself, your family, and the industry. She is hopeful and looking forward to partnering with CAPSU and visiting the university very soon.

Dr. Efren Linan, the CAPSU’s Vice-President for RDE and the ABI Project Leader, pledged his support and cooperation to Orchard Valley for the research projects they are planning to implement and the technologies they want to adopt. He wished for a solid and sustainable partnership between CAPSU and Orchard Valley to help the farm, the incubatees, and the community.

𝑨𝑩𝑰 𝒕𝒐 𝑭𝑻𝑩𝑰

To help the project team meet its deliverables and observe the best practices of other incubation programs, the team visited the University of the Philippines Visayas – Fisheries Technology Business Incubator: Coastline 5023 on May 31, 2022.

Ma’am Milyn Leghid, Project Leader of Coastline 5023, welcomed the team to their Tiangge ni Abyan trade fair. She introduced the team on their incubatees’ products and other invited exhibitors and startup businesses. She also toured the team to the new facilities of the university.

Lorlie Noblezada, one of the successful incubatees of Coastline 5023 and owner of De Paul Salt Farm, shared her testimonies during the visit of the team to her production area. She emphasized that through Coastline 5023 she was able to develop her products and widen her market as an entrepreneur. She compared small businesses to a butterfly. “𝘉𝘢𝘨-𝘰 𝘬𝘢𝘮𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘱𝘢𝘥, 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘺𝘰 𝘱𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘨-𝘪𝘨𝘰𝘥 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯𝘺𝘰 𝘯𝘦𝘨𝘰𝘴𝘺𝘰. 𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘪 𝘱𝘸𝘦𝘥𝘦 𝘯𝘨𝘢 𝘭𝘶𝘱𝘢𝘥 𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘴𝘰; 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘰 𝘯𝘨𝘢 𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘨𝘺𝘢𝘯 𝘬𝘢𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘺 𝘱𝘢 𝘯𝘨𝘢 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪 𝘬𝘪𝘵𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘥-𝘢𝘯 𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘥𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘢 𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘯 𝘯𝘦𝘨𝘰𝘴𝘺𝘰”, she said during her testimony.

The team then went to the office of Coastline 5023 as Ma’am Leghid toured everyone and got amazed by their facilities.

DOST - ORIENTATION PACKAGING AND LABELING

CAPSU ABI joined the DOST's Orientation on Packaging and Labeling

3 CAPSU ABI Incubatees joined the Orientation on Packaging and Labeling of the Department of Science and Technology held at Capiz Provincial Science and Technology Center, Fuentes Drive, Roxas City, Capiz on June 02, 2022.

The activity tackled the Basic Principles on Packaging and Labeling as well as the Mandatory Labeling Requirements of the Philippines. Participants also joined the "Drop the Egg" challenge wherein they were encouraged to understand the importance of packaging and how it attracts potential buyers.

Aside from the additional insights and learnings, participants' respective businesses were assessed based on their packaging and labeling contents and will be provided assistance for free.

Some of the recipients were:

1. Coconut and Food Beverages Processors of Burias, which was represented by their President - Mrs. Imelda Bautista. CFBPB is currently producing flavored panutsa with 8 flavors, namely: Original, Calamansi, Lemon Grass, Pandan, Strawberry, Vanilla, Blueternate, and Mango;

2. Boris Farm, which was represented by the owner herself - Ms. Joan Mae Lariza. Boris Farm will be producing wine, tea, and juice made of dragon fruit and mulberry;

3. Lapidez Farm, which was represented by one of its owners - Mr. John Lapidez. Lapidez Farm will be producing calamansi juice.
