BULLYING DEFINITION:
Bullying is ongoing unwelcome, pervasive, severe, verbal, written or physical conduct directed at a student or staff member by a student or staff member that has the effect of any or all of the following:
Physically, emotionally, or mentally harming a student or staff member.
Damaging, extorting, or taking a student or a staff member's personal property.
Placing a student or staff member in reasonable fear of physical, emotional, or mental harm.
Placing a student, or staff member in reasonable fear of damage to, or loss of personal property.
Creating an intimidating and/or hostile environment that substantially interferes with a student's educational opportunities or the ability of a staff member to perform his or her duties
BULLYING EXAMPLES:
Hitting, tripping, shoving, pinching, and excessive tickling
Threats, name-calling, racial slurs, and insults
Demanding money, property, or some service to be performed
Stabbing, choking and burning
Humiliating target(s) in front of friends
Manipulating friends and relationships
Sending hurtful or threatening email or notes
Blackmailing or terrorizing
Utilizing a website or social media to taunt, embarrass or degrade a target
