Parent & Me Dance - A Huge Hit! ♥️♥️♥️
Thanks to all of the families who attended the Parent & Me Dance. It was a chilly night, but you wouldn't know it. Families dancing on the stage on the dance floor or entertaining themselves with awesome Valentine's Day arts and crafts. The Parent & Me Dance was a big hit with young and old. Principal Murphine was seen booging the night away. ;)

First Lego League Robotics Team
We are proud to inform you that with the support of the Girl Scout Council and Marian Bergeson School, our first-year team- GS Junior troop 8597 learned to code, built a robot, built mission models and then coded an autonomous robot to complete 13 out of the 15 missions outlined in the competition. They also made an innovation projection and robot design poster which they presented at the competitions.
Students met once week and occasionally on weekends to work together. They went to qualifying tournaments in November. Their great public speaking skills coupled with their enthusiasm and presentation scores secured them a spot to advance to Regionals.
They continued to work on the robot and the missions until the Regional Tournament. The team traveled to San Diego for the competition practicing and coding in preparation for Regionals. At the regional tournament, they attempted (quite successfully) 13 of the 15 missions, earning 245 points! They nailed their presentations! In the end, they did not get to advance (only about 5% do) but they got 1st place for core values (one of the subcategories!).
Our students had so much fun, learned so much, and grew closer as a team and as a troop.
Congratulations Girl Scout Troop 8597! Go Bulldogs!
