About the Teacher

I have been teaching middle grades math and science for 16 years. I believe that all students learn best when they are engaged, active, and comfortable taking academic risks. The kids are by far the best part about this job and I love sharing my passion for science, math, and YA novels with them. I am a NC Teaching Fellow and have my BA in Middle Grades Education and NC State Teaching License.

I have a wonderful son, Tucker, here at CFA who is, of course, interested in all things math and science. I challenge myself daily to be the kind of teacher I want him to have and this inspires me to be creative in my instruction. There isn't a day that goes by when I do not feel blessed to be a part of the CFA family.
