This year, ELO Coordinator Lauren Tarantino is collaborating with teachers to bring the ELO experience into their classes and expand student access to the program.
Current partnerships include the following:
-Collaborating with English teacher Liz Yarrington to offer ELO opportunities to seniors enrolled in the Humanities class. Lauren has begun meeting with each senior to discuss their plans for the future, and she will set up an ELO experience for each of them, which may include a job shadow, an interview with an industry professional, or a tour of an office or facility that connects with their interests. Then, students will reflect on these experiences as part of their English class work.
-Collaborating with ML teacher Emilee Conroe. Lauren and Emilee have begun a series of meetings to brainstorm ways to extend the learning opportunities of our multi lingual students, and they care currently working together to generate ideas for community connections that relate to our current multi lingual learner curriculum.
