Canyons' Minakami base is nestled in the Tanigawa mountain range, home to 10 ski resorts all under 2 hours from Tokyo. The snow quality and volume of snow is rated in the 'Top 3 in Japan', providing the perfect playground for winter activities and creating a long season that starts early December and goes through to early April.

Our professional guides and instructors will provide the experience of a lifetime for first timers or experienced snow people alike. We have a large variety of activities to entertain and educate; ski and snowboarding, snowshoe, snow canyoning, snow craft, snow science, dog sledding and more...

Designed for ALL LEVELS

Designed for all level skiers and snowboarders ages 8 to 17 years old. The camp goal is giving a full experience on snow, allowing themselves to build new skills, all the while enjoying a fun and supportive environment with our high qualified instructors.

Our high qualified instructors will focus on skill progression in varying terrain and simple tricks.

Why Minakami?

Amazing consistent snow conditions with a long season from Dec through to early April and easily accessible from Tokyo and airports in under 3 hours. The ski resorts are uncrowded meaning no time waiting in lift queues and no trying to dodge the traffic. Our main resort for school groups, Hodaigi is the biggest resort in Minakami with variety of terrain. There are also plenty of "off the slopes" activities too!

The Canyons difference!

Our instructors hold NZSIA level 1-3 certification or equivalent and average 10 season + sharing their passion for snowsports. From total beginners to experts, we will help improve campers style and skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Group sizes will have a ratio of no more than 5:1 and will be paired with other children of the same ability level.
We own our own accommodation and restaurant so everything is set up to custom cater for groups; dietary needs, quality rental equipment, evening activities.
25 resorts within 45 mins! We are spoiled for choice, from Hodaigi (15 mins), one of Japans best beginner resorts to Kagura (40mins) one of the largest resorts. We customize each day to the progression of the groups.
