The Kumano Kodo, or Kumano Ancient Trail, is a pilgrimage route to Kumano, part of the mountainous Kii Peninsula which stretches south from the Kansai cities of Osaka, Nara and Kyoto. It can be run self contained or with full road support, depending on the goals of the group. Packraft are also made available to maximise the learning experience.
The mellow treeline terrain ranging from 1500 - 2000 m is the perfect introduction to winter touring. Spectacular mountain panoramas, native flora and fauna. The standard route measures around 20 km but various sub routes can be added as needed to adjust the course length and duration.
