Brandon Farren

Brandon Farren is in his ninetieth year as the head choral director at Canyon High School, having taught secondary choral music for twenty years in Texas. Under Brandon’s direction, the program at Canyon has tripled in size and now features six performing ensembles and a music theory program.  He also serves as the Fine Arts Department Head at CHS.  Brandon directs the Canyon High School Chamber Choir, Varsity Women, Varsity Men and Ovation ensembles, each of which earn consistent superior and sweepstakes awards at UIL competitions. Under his direction, the choirs performed at the 2007, 2011 and 2020 TMEA conventions.  

In addition to being active as an adjudicator, Brandon has conducted Region Clinic/Concerts across the state of Texas. He has served as TMEA region chair 2004-2012 and as the TMEA Area A vocal chair 2013-2015.  He has also served as TMEA Men’s Choir section leader at several conventions, Texas Music Adjudicators Association Standards and Practices Committee, UIL Music Advisory Committee and is a member of TCDA, MOWT, TMEA, TMEA mentoring network, TMAA and ACDA. He was awarded the Texas State UIL Sponsor Excellence Award in 2010.

Brandon is married to the incredible Heather Farren, choir director at Canyon Junior High School and has two beautiful children.
