Musical Goals

2nd Graders will learn how to:

• further develop an in-tune singing voice

• further develop their sense of steady beat, rhythm, and meter

• identify, read, and write ta, ti-ti, rest, and tiri-tiri

• identify, read, and write the solfa do, re, mi, so, la

• navigate the music staff

  • • number the lines and spaces on the music staff

    • identify, read, and write the pitches do, re, mi, so, la on the staff

    • use standard musical notation

• play various instruments, including boomwhackers, Orff, various percussion, and bucket drums

• create, arrange, and improvise various rhythmic and melodic patterns
