GENERAL
BRG/BORG 15 is a public academic secondary school, a "Realgymnasium", that is attended by approximately 620 students aged between 10-18, 62 teachers and two native assistant teachers. Most of our students speak a first language other than German. About half of the pupils with migrant background hold Austrian citizenship. The majority of pupils are „second or third generation“ immigrants, whose parents emigrated from various countries including the Balkan States, Poland and Turkey.
Students of our upper levels (aged 14-18) can either specialise in European Studies, in Media Studies or in Science. The school also offers various extra-curricular activities e.g. Chemistry and Physics Olympiade, School choir, German (Communication and Presentation Skills), Peer Mediation, Pre-Academic Training and Social learing. Our European High School branch focuses on educating students about Europe and the European Union. Learning about political decision making processes in the European Union and its institutions, as well as geography and common cultural or historical events is part of the curriculum of the subject European Studies, which is taught at our school. We aim to connect our students with others from all over Europe and help them with developing important teamworking and self-organisational skills through national and international projects in various directions. Topic-related and curriculum-based excursions and workshops are part of our daily school life.

We ́ve been part of an Erasmus+ Project (European Ideas and Identities – My EU-ID) from 2016-2018 (for further information visit http://erasmus.brgorg15.at) and several Comenius and IMST projects. We are familiar with eTwinning, Facebook and other kinds of social media to stay in contact with our partners all over Europe. So, participation in a new Erasmus project would be a continuation of an established practice at our school.
