A.C.E.S. After School Program
Preparing Students to Learn, Think and Care, beyond the school day
All enrollment is online this year through our Boys and Girls Club partnership. This new system will ask you to create an account and register with BGC of Caney. The new parent portal will allow you access to see what your student is doing each day and how long they are in each rotation.
Homework and tutoring is our main focus, if possible please pick your child up after 4:30 to ensure they get the most out of this time.
Academic. Character. Enrichment. Support
A.C.E.S is an after school program designed to provide extended academic and enrichment opportunities beyond the regular school day. Your child will have the opportunity to use and develop reading, math, writing, spelling, science, and art skills in a fun, structured, and safe environment. Enrollment is open to students enrolled in Kindergarten - 6th grade. A.C.E.S is staffed by certified teachers, para-professionals, community volunteers, and tutors.
What to Expect:
To help get started talk to your kid/kids about the first day and what it will look like. Let them know where to meet and what the day will look like as well as their plan for pick-up.
After the Bell:
Kindergarten: You will be picked up outside your classroom and walked down to the gym to line up.
1st-6th Graders: You will need to WALK to the gym and sit in line by grade. There will be staff in the gym to help.
We will then walk from the gym to get a snack. Staff will take attendance.
After snack we will move into our homework groups. (Staff will direct students where to go) Homework or reading books are expected each day.
After homework we will move to classrooms for enrichment activities. These will be fun hands on learning activities that keep them engaged and active.
If at any time you want to pick up your child please follow the pick up procedure and call the grade school office. Someone will walk them out to your car.
We will finish each day with a fun lego or math activity as well as gym free time.
1st Grade during homework time taking turns working with a certified teacher.
Our 5th and 6th graders get the opportunity at least once a month to help Kindergarten during homework time. This is a great mentorship program.
