Students should submit their monthly practice reflections through Google Classroom on their iPads, or into the turn-in basket at the front of the room if done on paper.
Practice is a VITAL component of instrumental musicianship. You simply will not be able to perform well on playing tests or be ready for concerts without practicing. Perform at your full potential! Playing quizzes and practice records/goals make up about 25% of your total grade.Â
In order to keep everyone accountable to practice, and in order for Mr. Paulus to provide meaningful feedback for each student, everyone needs to occasionally perform playing tests in class. If you are just TOO nervous to play your test in front of others, talk to Mr. Paulus IN ADVANCE... we usually have everyone get through them just fine, but he is willing to make alternative arrangements. But again... this must be figured out BEFORE the due date!
Just like all band students across the country, BPMS band students are REQUIRED to attend all concerts. Show up in the correct concert attire, give your best effort, and stay for the whole concert to earn an easy A on an assignment that makes up the biggest part of your grade!
