EWBC is a great, affordable day camp (no overnight stay) that occurs every July in east Portland/Gresham. The 2025 Camp will be held at Centennial High School July 21-25, and Mr. Paulus will be one of the directors! Highly recommended.
Northwest is a great week-long camp on the Oregon Coast. Mr. Paulus used to be a counselor here and always had a great time! Hundreds of band students from all around Oregon attend and keep returning every year.
SYBC is primarily for middle schoolers in the Sherwood School District, but Baker Prairie students have been invited to attend as well for the last several years. An affordable day camp that is fairly close to home! Highly recommended.
These are small-ensemble focused camps, one for woodwinds and one for brass. They bring in the top players in the state to teach (often members of the Oregon Symphony)! French horn players could attend either week.
CCC has a few day camps that are cheap and close to home. These include a Band Camp as well as a Music Composition Camp. These are only open to high school students, or those entering high school the following fall.
Molalla hosts a regional middle school honor band event in mid-March. Mr. Paulus will nominate 5-10 BPMS band students from each grade to participate. More details to come if your student is chosen!
This is an event that occurs in Eugene over MLK weekend every January, in conjunction with the Oregon Music Educators Association Conference. Top students from schools around the state are selected to participate in All-State choir, band, and orchestra ensembles. Auditions are due in early October.
