Music Trip

Baker Prairie Advanced Band students have the opportunity to participate in our annual festival trip to either Portland or Seattle. The festival is hosted by Music in the Parks, a company that organizes middle school and high school music festivals around the country. Canby middle school students have attended this festival for the past 24 years. This trip provides an opportunity for camaraderie among the students that is invaluable to their time in music classes. Students will remember this trip for years to come! 

This event is of a high caliber, requiring students to be disciplined in personal practice and rehearsal time in the months leading up to the trip. During the actual festival, students are expected to display professionalism in appearance and musicianship as well as positive behavior and respect at all times. Through this festival, students are given an opportunity to take pride in their community as they represent Canby School District in front of students from all over the Northwest.

Fundraiser

Canby Music Boosters is providing a fundraising opportunity (in addition to the fireworks booth in June) for band students this school year.  The fundraiser is optional and has had much success in the past.  Funds raised by individual students are held for their benefit to help offset school related expenses and fees including (but not limited to) instrument rentals, sports fees, and trips.

CMB fundraisers are open to middle school and high school band students. Funds earned stay with the student through their school carrier in Canby.  Unused funds upon graduation may be transferred to a sibling or another band student.  If you have any questions, want to check the balance of your account or to use funds, simply email canbymusicboosters@gmail.com with your request.

Parents and Students are invited to become involved in the Canby Music Boosters.  To find out more about what we do, please join our meetings held on the 2nd Thursday of every month in person at 6:30pm in the Ackerman cafeteria. Our next meeting is April 11th.

World’s Finest Chocolate Bars - Sales will be from 4/8/2024- 4/26/2024

• Students commit to selling a full box (60) chocolate bars for $1.00 each.

• Students must check out a box from the Band Director and acknowledge that they are responsible and liable for the entire box once OPENED or WRITTEN ON

• $60 (cash or check) must be turned in to the Band Director before another box can be checked out.

• For each box sold, $25 will be credited to the students Music Booster account.

• All funds must be turned into the Band Director on 4/26/2024
