The Cambodia University of Technology and Science (CamTech) is a private, non-profit, and research-intensive higher education institution. CamTech thrives on being the leading innovation-focused entrepreneurial university in the fields of science and technology in Cambodia.
The vast majority of CamTech’s lecturers are full-time staff and hold a doctoral degree with international research experience and publications in high-ranking journals indexed in ISI and SCOPUS databases. Besides providing scholarships, sponsorship, and internship to outstanding individuals, CamTech also offers its students overseas exchange program experience through its broad international network with other universities in the ASEAN region and Europe, Canada, China, and Australia.
CamTech has its campus with an area of five hectares located in Sangkat Praek Ta Sek, Khan Chroy Changvar, Phnom Penh. Within its premises, CamTech hosts tech startups, an innovation office, research centers, a university-industry linkage unit, and a sports complex.
As a research-intensive university, research and innovation have been a core mission of CamTech because they are the keys to ensuring scientific advancements and Cambodia’s industrial development and socio-economic growth. In addition, through their high-level research and new discoveries, CamTech’s academics generates new knowledge and deliver research-led teaching. Owning to its direct and indirect advantages, since the university's establishment, research and innovation centers have been founded to foster excellence in both pure and applied research, academic education, services, and scholarly collaboration.
Currently, CamTech has seven research centers, including the Center for Social Innovation. Its mission is to promote innovative solutions to address the challenges related to the Sustainable Development Goals, participate in building a social economy ecosystem, and carry out activities that encourage an innovative and entrepreneurial way of thinking to achieve social impact, drive a positive societal transformation, and bring about “Society 5.0”, which is sustainable, circular, and people-centered.
