As part of the graduation requirements in my school, seniors do a month-long internship that relates to their post secondary school plans. Since I'm majoring in zoology it made sense to go to the zoo that I'd been volunteering at for many years. I did my senior internship at the Turtle Back Zoo as an unpaid zoo educator. I worked in animal care administering medication, feeding and making enrichment for the animals as well as going out into the zoo for educational programs. I would teach school groups about whatever animal they wanted or on specific days we would set up outside of different animals. The pictures are from World Otter Day.
I graduated from Oberlin College in May where I played on the Varsity Field Hockey team and had a Major in Neuroscience, Minor in Writing and Communication and a Integrative Concentration in Global Health. My placement is at the QVS house in Philadelphia where I am currently living in west philly with 4 other QVS fellows. I live in the QVS house in Mantua in West Philly with four other QVS fellows. I’ve loved connecting with the Quaker Community in Philly! My favorite part of working at the Body Empowerment Project is connecting with kids from all over the city and offering them a curriculum centered on developing confidence, increasing health equity, and building community —something I wish I had when I was their age.
I still work at camp, and I've been studying conservation and wildlife management at Delaware Valley University. Before Camp, I did an internship at The Wildlands Conservancy in Emmaus Pa. where I worked on restoration projects and helped with the summer camp program. I have also been hiking, and spending lots of time with family and friends.
This fall, a group of seven Onas alumni put their heads together and got to reading! We started this book club after realizing that while we each shared a love of reading, some of us lacked the push needed to actually pick up a new book, and all of us wished we had a community that was ready to talk about what we were reading. It worked out perfectly that all of us live in the same city, love to snack, and never run out of things to say. Together our group has finished one book and is onto our next, and we can’t wait until we’ve got loads of books under our belt. If you’d like to keep up with our progress and get some reading inspo for yourself or your own book groups, you can follow along with us using our spreadsheet where we chronicle our feelings about the books we’ve read

Greetings, Fellow Planeswalkers!
Summon your decks and prepare to battle across the multiverse! You are cordially invited to an afternoon of spells, strategy, and sorcery. Gather at Camp Onas on Saturday, February 8th, 2025 to play the Camp classic card game Magic the Gathering with other Onas alumni, friends… and foes.
Whether you're a seasoned mage or a novice with untapped potential, this gathering promises epic duels, mana-rich camaraderie, and an arena of unforgettable fun. Bring your favorite deck—or borrow one from our collection—and ready yourself to clash on the battlefield. Food tokens and potions (aka lunch) will be provided.
This is also an opportunity to come help us build decks for campers out of the camp collection or donate some cards.
Please register by 1/25/24.
Until then, may your draws be plentiful and your mana flows eternal!
