Every season at Onas is amazing, and 2024 was no exception. We are so grateful for the campers who participated with kindness and enthusiasm, the counselors who guided and encouraged them, and you, the families who placed their trust in Camp Onas to provide a safe and joyful summer camp experience.
From the first meal shared together to pick-up day, we have the privilege of witnessing campers become more confident, forge special friendships, and collaborate with kindness and creativity. Thank you to the campers who tried something new, made space for differences, and grew closer to nature and each other. As move into the winter months, we are missing the sounds of summer– Camp singing in unison, the bell calling us together, laughter and splashing echoing from a pool party. We hope you look back on the challenges you took– climbing a high ropes element, hiking on the voyager, or performing on the stage– with pride and fondness. Thank you for bringing your unique self to all your experiences at Onas this summer.
And thank you, the parents, guardians, and families of these extraordinary campers. Thank you for encouraging your child’s sense of independence and fortitude, for helping them pack their trunk, dropping them off at Camp, for writing the letters that brighten their day.
Every summer is made unique by the people who join us. It’s Camp Onas’s mission to build a community of people who are joyful, confident, kind, and engaged, and as the people who comprise this wonderful little community, we thank you and your family for helping us enact it.
Below, we have some highlights from this past summer, as well as information for 2025! (Can you believe it's already time to register for Camp?)
All Camp photos ("now, a silly one!") for First, Second, Third, and Fourth Sessions
This summer, we had a Minecraft Theme Day in First Session, and the Theme Weekends were Inside Out, Camp Olympus, and How to Train Your Dragon. The Third Session weekend, Camp Olympus, was not based on a book or movie, and was a story the counselors created on their own using Greek mythology.

Summer 2024 was the biggest year for the Camper Aid Program yet, with 76 campers – or 19% of Onas families – receiving $70,500 from the Camper Aid Fund. Thankfully, through the support of the Camp Onas community and partnerships with organizations that fund camperships, Camp Onas continues to provide financial aid to every family that applies.
George Parker came back to Camp Onas this summer as our first ever videographer! This role, which marked his sixth year as a staff member, was a unique opportunity that combined George's videography background and Camp’s current needs. For nine summers, Camp Onas has been a special place for George, and he was eager to continue capturing all the fun and memories that campers will be making throughout the summer. As part of his work this summer, he created a special “First Session Recap” video!

The Voyager is a 3-day backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail. Any camper who is aged 12+ is invited to do the Voyager. Some sessions there are more campers than spots, in that case we prioritize graduates and people who haven't done the trip before.
On each Voyager, there are staff trained in Wilderness First Aid and/or Lifeguarding. And, if your camper does not have hiking shoes, a backpack, or sleeping bag, we can provide!
There is an additional charge of $150 for a camper to participate in the Voyager, payable at the end of the summer. Financial assistance is available to those who have completed our Camper Aid Fund applications.
