We are learning to engage with a text
When we engage with texts, we get more out of them. We understand more, and we enjoy them more.
We will be able to:
Remember and discuss important events
Discuss our feelings about characters
Identify and discuss important themes in the text
Compare the text with our own lives (what is similar, what is different, what can we relate to?)
Ask questions about the text and make predictions.
Write SEXY paragraphs about important aspects of the text.
We will refresh our memories about our class novel - The War That Saved My Life, by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. We will do this using a Blooket quiz.
We will learn about the activities we will have to complete as a part of our novel study.
We will discuss important messages this book made us think about and come up with examples from the novel that link to this message.
