Avance Residency Los Angeles recognizes that teacher preparation tests have often been a barrier to accessing a teaching credential. Avance Residency Los Angeles has partnered with Study.com, a national edtech platform, to launch Keys to the Classroom to support diversifying the teaching pipeline by removing a barrier with test preparation for both the CBEST and CSET exams. 

Study.com will donate over $30,000 of scholarships (equating to 45 licenses) so that Avance Residents will be able to access cost-free study materials for the CBEST and CSET exams. This partnership between Avance Residency Los Angeles and Study.com supports the mission of both Avance and Keys to the Classroom. Residents have the opportunity through this partnership to invest in themselves as well as the teaching profession by ensuring that they are able to study and pass the teacher preparation exams to demonstrate readiness to teach. 

The scholarships to Study.com will be distributed to Avance Residents upon acceptance, as well as targeted candidates who have historically faced challenges passing the CBEST exam. Please reach out to Sarah Tapia-Pruett, Teacher Residency Coach for further information.
