Admission Requirements
Earned BA/BS degree
Degree earned from an accredited university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Other qualifying GPAs include a GPA of 3.05 in the last 60 semester units (90 quarter units) of undergraduate studies, or a 3.0 GPA in at least 9 semester units of graduate work *
GRE is not required for admission
* If your GPA doesn’t meet the requirements, we do still encourage you to apply since we take a holistic approach when evaluating candidates for admission.
Meet Basic Skills Requirment
The Basic Skills Test/Requirement measures math, reading, and writing skills. Candidates can meet this requirement through of one methods outlined here by the CA Commission on Teacher Credentials
CBEST is often taken to met the BSR
Certificate of Clearance
Fingerprint Clearance through the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is required prior to begin teaching practice. Please follow the instructions from the CTC here CL-900
TB Screening
TB screening is to prevent the transmission of of tuberculosis. Educators must provide a negative TB result.
