Admission Requirements
Earned BA/BS degree
Degree earned from an accredited university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Other qualifying GPAs include a GPA of 3.05 in the last 60 semester units (90 quarter units) of undergraduate studies, or a 3.0 GPA in at least 9 semester units of graduate work *
GRE is not required for admission
* If your GPA doesn’t meet the requirements, we do still encourage you to apply since we take a holistic approach when evaluating candidates for admission.
Certificate of Clearance
Fingerprint Clearance through the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is required prior to begin teaching practice. Please follow the instructions from the CTC here CL-900
TB Screening
TB screening is to prevent the transmission of of tuberculosis. Educators must provide a negative TB result.

List last 3 jobs/employers with supervisor contact information
Contact information for 3 References:
2 professional references (i.e. supervisor, administrator, lead teacher, university advisor or professor)
1 personal reference (i.e. colleague, mentor, supervisor from volunteer work)
Unofficial Transcripts - submit them on the Avance application AND to LMU by starting an application with them

GROUP INTERVIEW- What to Expect
Group Interview of 5-6 resident applicants at a time with the Avance Team as a support and panel on a virtual call
Interview components consist of reading an article and writing a response, discussing the article as a whole group, and reflecting on Avance team member's feedback
INDIVIDUAL INTERVIEW- What to Expect
A virtual interview one on one with a member of the Avance Residency Selection Team on Microsoft Teams
You will receive the questions prior to the interview + have access to an asynchonous "What to Expect During the Interview" session
