I have worked within the field of education for over 5 years. I am ecstatic to be part of the Avance program. I am glad to be working with like-minded individuals who share a deep passion for teaching. I can't wait to grow professionally with my cohort! Let's go LIONS!!!
Rachel Binsfield
I was born and raised in San Diego, but moved to LA at the start of the pandemic. While I've always worked with kids in some capacity, I've only been a teacher for about 8 years. I've actually known from a young age I wanted to work in education -- I had a fifth grade teacher who showed me just how much one teacher can make a difference in students' lives.

I am a dedicated and passionate individual seeking to make a difference by serving the youth in an academic setting. I believe that everyone needs a connection and someone that may encourage their growth in academics and as a member of the community. I am excited that through Avance I will learn to cultivate the culture that creates a positive impact in the educational system for our children.

I began my teaching career here at Camino Nuevo and have enjoyed every minute of it. I chose this profession because I enjoy working with children. Helping them grow academically, emotionally and supporting them in becoming independent critical thinkers is what I enjoy the most. One interesting fact about me is that I am very easy to get along with.

I have been a part of the Camino Nuevo family my whole life. I will be working with 4th graders at Camino Nuevo Burlington. The reason I joined Avance was because Avance disrupts the traditional teacher path and it benefits not only the students but future teachers like myself. For fun I like a good hike, cooking, animals, and anything to do with nature.

Cinthya Coronel
I was born in Mexico and raised in South Central Los Angeles. I have been teaching for five years now. Most of my experience is with middle school, but I did my student teaching in a high school.

One of my favorite things about teaching is being able to build lasting relationships with students and learning about their lives outside of school. You will often find me wearing my dinosaur onesie during our movie day and pajama class parties!
