All residents receive up to a $48,000 financial package and additional grant/scholarship opportunities
Avance residents are classified as school employees on school sites four days completing their clinical experience.
Apprentice with a mentor teacher through a gradual release of responsibility
Participate in school-wide professional development
Weekly coaching/development from mentor
Avance residents are full-time students at Loyola Marymount University
Cohort-based learning format.
Attend remote courses two evenings a week to earn their teaching credential in 1 year.
Residents are eligible for multiple scholarships and grants ranging from $1,000- $13,000.
By the end of the residency year, residents will have over 1,000 hours of classroom experience applying theoretical learning to clinical practice.
