Avance residents are classified as school employees on school sites four days completing their clinical experience.
Observe and gradually take on responsibility in the classroom with mentor Teacher
Participate in school-wide professional development
Weekly coaching/development from mentor
Avance residents are full-time students at Loyola Marymount University
Cohort-based learning format.
Attend courses two evenings a week to earn their teaching credential in 1 year.
Residents are eligible for multiple scholarships
By the end of the residency year, residents will have over 1,000 hours of classroom experience applying theoretical learning to clinical practice.
