Physical Fitness Testing (5th)
Physical Fitness Testing for students in California schools is known as the FITNESSGRAM. Students in grades 5, 7, & 9 take the fitness test.
The main goal of the test is to help students in starting life-long habits of regular physical activity.
WHY?
Piece of information students and families can use, along with other information to monitor overall fitness. Results are also useful for schools to monitor their physical education programs.
The test is made up of 6 parts:
-PACER (Cardiovascular endurance)
-Push Ups (Strength)
-Curl Ups (Strength)
-Sit & Reach (Flexibility)
-Trunk Lift (Flexibility)
-Body composition
