"It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living."
~ F. Scott Fitzgerald ~
A quick bio:
I spent my 6th grade year in Ft. Bragg, NC (Army brat that I was), and I loved all of my classes, especially reading and music. Since then, I went on to become an English major at the University of Virginia, and earned my teaching credential from San Francisco State University. I love to travel with my family (husband and three kids); hike; camp; read; and learn about the world we live in. I also love the theater and have fun incorporating drama games in the classroom.
A quick philosophy:
We teach reading, writing, and history as a means to nurture curiosity, develop mindfulness, and encourage positive contributions to society. We employ the "big c's" to help achieve those goals: thinking Critically; Collaborating with others; Communicating effectively; and applying skills Creatively.
