Research is highly relevant and appropriate. Excellent application of knowledge and understanding of genre, representation and audience. Very interesting to see how this research ultimately translated successfully into the final production. The choice of films like ‘Halloween’, but then also to see how this knowledge was used to create a sequence that was visually referencing Halloween. Research 9/10

Good ability to plan media products for an intended audience. A really good outline that explains the opening of your production. Also, effective storyboards that show locations and shot types. An excellent realisation of the brief that consistently uses conventions relevant to the chosen forms, genre, and industry . An excellent fulfillment of the brief that shows how the initial research has been used to influence the final film.
18/20Conventions of the genre or form are applied in a highly appropriate and imaginative way. Excellent technical skills and creativity. The film shows an excellent knowledge of the genre and its technical codes using elements such as POV shots, and a variety of other angles to build effective suspense throughout. Creative use of sound and music and other subtle fx such as telephone voices and breathing.

The media production applies knowledge and understanding of representation in an excellent, generally fluent, and consistent way. The film uses an excellent representation of young people to its advantage. In a similar way to films like ‘Halloween’ (referenced in the research), early depictions of the characters talking are used to flesh out the characters for ‘realism’. In this case, they use the phone, ringing it more up to date.
