Students will work individually to create one of three different woodworking projects. They will learn tool identification and safety, how to measure and cut properly, and various wood joints. We will be using a mixture of hand tools as well as an introduction to basic power tools such as a drill and jigsaw. Get those safety glasses ready!
Throughout this school year students will be completing numerous projects that require a range of different crafting techniques. In this mini crash course, students will learn various painting, sculpture, and collaging techniques which they will be able to apply later on in the year. They will also learn strategies to minimize resource waste which will not only save some money but also help the environment.
From engineering to construction to medical devices, prototyping is a critical step in order to analyze a design and predict obstacles before you begin the real build. Students will learn how to complete conceptual sketches, use scale and proportion, and how to properly measure and cut materials to create a small-scale replica of designs.
