Monday- We learned about the Wright Brothers and the 4 forces of flight.
Tuesday - We learned about Robert Goddard, the father of US rocketry, and built several types of rockets.
Wednesday- We learned about Neil Armstrong, John Glenn, and helicopters today.
Thursday- Today, we learned about Katherine Johnson and made articulated arms.
Friday - Today, in addition to launching our rockets, we learned how to get the astronauts back to Earth safely using heat shields and parachutes.

This week, we learned about Bernoulli's principle, which explains the force of lift on an airplane. Blowing across the tongue on our masks demonstrates this principle. The increase in airspeed over the tongue creates a lower pressure over the tongue, so it rises in the air.
On Febraury 18 we held our 2nd STEM night for 2nd-6th grade students and their parents. There were hands on activites and career speakers.
