We read The Marvelous Thing That Came from a Spring, learned about the science of Slinkys, and made an obstacle course for them. We learned that metal Slinkys today have fewer coils than they originally did so they do not go down stairs the same way.

We started the year in 4th-grade Computer Science and STEM class with LEGO six brick building activities. These are activities that challenge students to use problem-solving skills. One challenge was to stand back to back with your partner and build an object with 3 bricks then use words to tell your partner how to build the exact same thing.
