Your first graders will be taught to love God, know His love for them, and how to love others. With the foundation you have already given them, and the teaching and modeling examples I will provide in our class; your child will be recognized for these behaviors. Two management systems are used: our Nautical clip chart, and the Caught Being Good sticker graph. Positive behaviors will be rewarded with moving a clip upward the chart. Treasure tickets are given each move up. Fifteen tickets result in special privileges and/or a treasure box item. Positive behaviors are kindness, responsibility, respectfulness, courage, and work effort. Caught Being good slips can be given by me or other teachers and principals throughout the school. Poor choices in the above behavior along with negative conduct behaviors will result in a clip moving down and a loss of one treasure ticket or five minutes of recess time. Communication of your child's behavior and work effort will be recorded on a weekly log and sent home to you each Monday in your child's Weekly folder. A phone call will be made for any timely matters that can not wait until the following Monday. I look forward to discipling your first grader!
