State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs) allow educators to use time spent involved in professional development activities to renew or progress their educator certificates. SCECH programs must follow strict content and delivery guidelines to ensure high quality professional development.

Traditional Programs are blended/hybrid, face-to-face or virtual online conferences, meetings, or workshops offering professional development focused on a specific topic or related topics.
Non-traditional programs are activities which educators may participate in that are exceptions to the standard conferences and meetings offered as SCECH programs. These types of SCECHs are school-based programs. Examples of school-based non-traditional programs are:

The new Administrative Rules affect teachers (Standard (provisional) and professional), administrators, school psychologists and school counselors. These rules do not affect SCECHs or the SCECH process.
