TASK 5: Laboratory Experience (Competency Assessment)

You will be turning in this task to be graded against the competency continua. You may complete this project as many times as you need to reach mastery.

Water Runoff Experiment:

Competencies Assessed: SCI.1.1-SCI.1.7 and SCI.2.1-SCI.2.2

Continua are linked below, you will need to reach a level 9 to reach mastery.

Overarching Question: How does the ground cover affect the amount, quality, or composition of water runoff?

I have attached a Google Doc to help guide you through the process of designing and completing an investigation. I have also included the PDF of the textbook version of this lab. This is meant to help guide you. You need to follow my document in order to meet the competencies.

You will need to create your own document to complete the lab. Make sure you save EVERYTHING you complete in this lab, as I need to be able to see your entire process to assess the competencies.

After you have completed the entire project, submit the final product (outlined in the Iterate Using Results section) and any other documents you have created during this lab (Google Docs, Google Sheets, images, etc.). You will also need to submit your own evaluation of your project against the competencies outlined below. This can be as simple as listing the area (SCI.1.1, SCI.1.2, etc) and the score you give yourself using the continuum (8, 9, 10, etc.).

You will have the ability to revise any turned in material upon receiving my feedback.
