Ecology and Ecosystems

Objectives:

I will be able to design, evaluate, and revise a solution to help reduce human impact on the environment.
I will be able to use a model to explain the cycling of carbon throughout the Earth's spheres.
I will be able to use models to explain the cycling of matter and flow of energy among organisms in an ecosystem.

Competencies:

SCI.1 Lead Scientific Investigations: SCI.1.1-SCI.1.7
SCI.2 Analyze and Interpret Data: SCI.2.1-SCI.2.2
SCI.3 Develop and Use Models: SCI.3.1-SCI.3.3

In this unit, you will be able to check off competencies in SCI.1, SCI.2, and SCI.3.

We will be learning about ecology and ecosystems, as well as practicing laboratory skills and learning how to use and create models.

Throughout the unit, there will be checkpoints that you are required to complete before you can move on. These checkpoints allow me to give you feedback on the skills that will be assessed.
