9th Grade Spanish I
Bienvenidos! I am Gee Santos, and this is my fifth year teaching Spanish on Mustang Mountain. I live in Maumelle with my wife and our 11 year old yellow lab. I love CAC and the wonderful community that we have here. It's been a blessing, and I'm grateful to be a part of this family. I'm originally from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, but I moved to Tennessee in 2011 to attend college at Freed-Hardeman University to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Spanish and English. In 2018, I finished my Masters of Arts in Teaching — Last year, I started a second masters degree in Spanish at the University of Central Arkansas.
While in college I had the opportunity to study abroad in both Madrid, Spain, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, and also be a part of the Hispanic Ministry at Estes Church of Christ in Henderson, Tennessee. I completely fell in love with the language and the diversity found in the Hispanic world. I have a passion for foreign language and learning about different cultures. Traveling the world and seeing things from a new perspective is one of my favorite things to do. I love sharing my personal experiences growing up in Brazil and living in America as an immigrant. I want our students to know that learning Spanish (or any other language) goes beyond learning the language itself; it opens doors for self-reflection and viewing the world with fresh new eyes. I love teaching Spanish 1 and being part of our students' first steps in their journey to learn this beautiful language.
