Financial Aid and Scholarships
What is the FAFSA, and are international students eligible?
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is a standard form used to determine eligibility for financial aid, including grants, work-study, and loans.
International students do not qualify for aid through the US government. However, it's important to still complete the FAFSA because some colleges use it to see if you're eligible for aid from the school itself. Check with your school's financial aid office to see if it uses the FAFSA for international students.

Scholarships
Scholarships, aka 'free money', help pay for university, and you are not required to pay them back. External scholarships vary in amount; some are small sums of money, and others could potentially pay for your entire collegiate experience. CAC highly encourages all students to research outside scholarships.
Caution: External scholarship research and applications should be free. Any service that requires a fee is not a valid resource. Students must practice due diligence in selecting which scholarships to apply to. If you have a concern, please contact your counselor right away.
