"Design creates culture. Culture shapes values. Values determine the future."
Robert L Peters
MAI is an introductory course based on Graphic Design approaches. These develop into a creative thinking process that combines art and technology to convey ideas meaningfully, and effectively to diverse and specific audiences. The course builds strong foundations to graphic art, typography, photography, branding, and page architecture. Learning and applying Adobe Creative softwares like Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is an essential part of the course where visual culture is at the essence.
MAII is a continuation of MAI, with the aim to empower students to take full ownership of their creative thinking process, and aspirations, by further exploring the purpose of digital art and technology through Motion Graphics. This project-based class is an invitation to work on interactive projects by building on the artistic skills acquired; ultimately deepening the understanding of the 2D and 3D as a catalyst for the creation of storytelling that amplifies our experiences in a tech-driven global environment.
P&Y is a unique course that allows students to take full ownership of the yearbook's production, design and publication, gaining valuable experience in the world of print media. This course also serves as the platform for students to use the skills learned in the MA courses. There is special emphasis on problem-solving, organizing, team-working, critiquing, editing, and meeting real-world deadlines. Assignments focus on CAC's core values with the aim to produce a memorable time-capsule that highlights life in HS.
