Travel Art Kit Ideas

You don't need a lot of supplies to create great art. 

Start with what you already have, add materials as needed, and most importantly—have fun creating!

Travel Art Kit Ideas

• Crayons (store in a zip-top bag to save space)

• Markers or erasable pens (such as Pilot FriXion)

• Small pieces of construction paper or origami paper

• Small sketchbook or notebook with unlined paper

• Portable watercolor pad

• Watercolor postcard pad

• Pan watercolors and/or watercolor pencils

• Water brush (Aqua Brush)

• Crayon roll or fabric art organizer

• Washable markers

• Pencil and sharpener

• Tape

• Child-safe scissors (if age appropriate)

• Gallon-size zip-top bag or flat storage case to keep supplies organized

Ideas by Age

Toddlers

• Chubby washable crayons or mini washable markers

• Skip the scissors

TK–Kindergarten

• Add stickers, washi tape, and colored paper

Ages 6+

• Try watercolor pencils, pan watercolors with a water brush, origami paper, washi tape, and gel pens
