Meet Your Art Teacher
Welcome! I'm excited to share my passion for art and creativity with your family.
Welcome! I'm excited to share my passion for art and creativity with your family.
My name is Lórien Eck, and I am a passionate art educator and lifelong learner who loves helping students discover the joy of creative expression.
I believe art is a place where students can explore their imagination, build confidence, express themselves, and experience the joy of creating. My goal is to foster a welcoming and supportive learning environment where every student feels valued, encouraged, and inspired.
I hold a B.A. in Studio Art, an M.Ed. (Emphasis in Visual Arts Education, Curriculum & Instruction, and Educational Practice), and a California TK–12 Single Subject Teaching Credential in Art with English Learner authorization (CLAAD).
My teaching experience spans public schools throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties, where I have been recognized as an award-winning educator and highly qualified teacher. My professional experience includes National Board Certification and a variety of educational leadership roles.
I have also taught in international settings, including Ghana, India, Guatemala, Thailand, and China, and contributed to educational television by writing, producing, and hosting a segment series for Homework Hotline, a PBS program on KLCS.
In addition to teaching, I maintain an active studio practice as a mixed-media artist at Waterfront Studios.
I believe every student is naturally creative and curious. Through meaningful experiences in the arts, students develop imagination, confidence, critical thinking, and lifelong creative skills.
I can't wait to meet your student and enjoy a wonderful year of creating together! 🎨
