PATROL DIVISION:  The Backbone of the Department

The Patrol Division is the foundation of the Cabot Police Department and the front line of public safety.

Our patrol officers are:

First responders to calls for service

Proactive in crime prevention

Visible in neighborhoods and business districts

Responsible for report writing, arrests, working vehicle collisions, and investigations at the initial level

CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION (CID):  Solving Crime. Seeking Justice.

The Criminal Investigations Division is responsible for conducting follow-up investigations on serious and complex cases.

CID detectives handle:

Violent crimes

Property crimes

Domestic violence cases

Crimes against persons

Complex investigations requiring detailed casework

Our detectives are trained in: Interview and interrogation, Case management, Evidence handling, and Court preparation and testimony

CID works closely with patrol officers to ensure cases are built thoroughly from the first response to final prosecution.

 NARCOTICS DIVISION:  Targeting Drug Activity and Associated Crimes

The Narcotics Division, part of our Criminal Investigations Division, focuses on identifying, investigating, and disrupting illegal drug activity within the community and Central Arkansas.

Narcotics officers:

Conduct undercover operations and surveillance 

Work with confidential informants

Coordinate with regional and federal task forces

Target high-level offenders and drug distribution networks

This division plays a critical role in reducing crime by addressing one of its root causes.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS DIVISION:  Integrity. Accountability. Trust.

Professional Standards ensures the department operates with integrity, transparency, and consistency.  They are also responsible for the training of all sworn officers.

SORT:  Special Operations Response Team

This tactical team is trained to respond to high-risk incidents, including:

Barricaded individuals

SORT members receive advanced tactical training and operate as a highly disciplined and coordinated unit.

UAV / DRONE PROGRAM

Our Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) program enhances operations through:

Aerial surveillance

CRISIS NEGOTIATION TEAM

Trained negotiators respond to critical incidents involving:  Hostage situations, Suicidal subjects, High-risk barricaded individuals

Their mission is to de-escalate situations and preserve life whenever possible.

DIVE TEAM

The Dive Team provides specialized capabilities for:

Water rescues

Recovery operations

Evidence searches in waterways

This team operates in challenging environments requiring advanced training and discipline.

BIKE SQUAD (E-BIKES)

E-bikes allow officers to be more accessible and mobile in areas traditional vehicles cannot reach especially in event security and community engagement events

DRE:  DRUG RECOGNITION EXPERTS

Drug Recognition Experts are specially trained officers who:, Identify impairment beyond alcohol, Support DWI enforcement, Provide expert courtroom testimony

Our DRE officers play a critical role in roadway safety.

K9 UNIT

Our K9 teams assist with:  Drug detection, Tracking suspects, Apprehension, Search operations

K9 officers and their partners are highly trained and vital to many operations.

NARCOTICS OFFICERS

In addition to the division itself, specialized narcotics officers conduct:  Surveillance, Buy operations, Intelligence gathering, Interdiction, Search Warrants

DETECTIVES

Detectives are assigned to CID and specialize in:  Affidavits and Felony investigations, Case follow-up, Evidence analysis, Interviewing witnesses and suspects, Warrant Service

VICTIM ADVOCACY PROGRAM (IN DEVELOPMENT)

The Cabot Police Department is actively developing a Victim Advocacy Program to better serve those impacted by crime.

This program will provide:  Support for victims and families, Resource coordination, Guidance through the criminal justice process
