GCSE Double Award Science: This qualification provides Students with essential skills, knowledge and understanding of the sector and gives an insight into career opportunities in scientific fields.
OTHER INFORMATION: The course is over two years and is the equivalent of two GCSEs. Good passes at GCSE level lends itself for a student who wishes to study GCE Double Award Life and Health Science or GCE A Level Biology/ Chemistry/ Physics for A-Level. Third Level courses undertaken by past pupils include Radiotherapy, Nursing, Optometry, Physiotherapy, Engineering, Stratified Medicine, Cardiology and Pharmacy.
GCSE Single Award Science: This is a two-year unitised course which builds on KS3 Science. The pupils will develop important skills such as data handling, problem solving and drawing conclusions. The course is designed for further education and employment.
OTHER INFORMATION: This course is the equivalent of one GCSE and the grading is awarded at the end of two years. This course is not considered a suitable pathway for studying A Level Biology/Chemistry and Physics.
