Description: The study of all modern languages involves the 4 skills of Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. A wide range of interesting topics is covered over the 2 year period of study: -Relationships; Environment; Personal interests; Technology And Social Media; Health and Lifestyle; Social Issues and Youth Culture. Students will learn to communicate effectively, produce creative pieces in speech and writing and listen and respond to stimulus material on the above themes. While a language is currently non-compulsory at GCSE, it is nevertheless considered desirable in the Admissions Criteria of many colleges and universities and may well become compulsory again, in the not too distant future.
