Google Shared Drive files are owned by the team and not by any one individual so when staff members leave for example and removed from the Shared Drive all content remains.
Shared Drives are great for ongoing staff collaboration e.g. for SLTs, Departments etc.
Settings can be applied to restrict sharing content to within C2k or for sharing only within the Shared Drive.
Shared Drive members with Comment or View rights can be prevented from downloading, copying or printing.
To amend Shared Drive settings:
Open the Shared Drive and click on the Dropdown Arrow beside Team Drive Name for Settings and other Options
