Learning About Ulster-Scots

Watch this short animation outlining some information about the Ulster-Scots tradition.

At the narrowest point, only 13 miles of sea separate Ulster and Scotland.

The term Ulster-Scots refers to people, not place - the people who migrated from the Lowlands of Scotland to Ulster, and to their heritage and cultural traditions, including industry, language, music, sport and religion.

The study of Ulster-Scots can add much richness to the curriculum at both primary and post-primary level through Literature, Language, The Arts, Home Economics and The World Around Us.
