“Without music, life would be a mistake.”
Friedrick Nietzche.
Music is unique in being able to create emotions, feelings, and behaviours in a variety of ways. Laughter, reflection, dancing and singing along to the music to name but a few. All music can provide therapeutic benefits and it is hoped that the Music As Therapy part of our Parental Hub will prove a beneficial resource for our parents and pupils.
As well as signposting information about Music Therapy providers in our schools and EA Music, we have uploaded several interactive videos. These videos will enable parents and pupils to interact with the videos and participate in Music As Therapy sessions online. Participation may vary from just listening to the music to actively participating.
Many thanks to the staff from Make A Melody Music Therapy, Everyday Harmony, EA Music and Mrs. Rosie Henry for their willingness and enthusiasm to participate in this project.

Every Day Harmony is passionate about, and committed to supporting, people who find communication and interaction difficult. This may be for a defined period in someone’s life or as the result of a lifelong condition. We believe that because music is a fundamental part of being human, it crosses all barriers. Year after year and person after person we see the evidence of that.

These sensory songs were created by Miss Rosie Henry who was working as a Music Therapist for Everyday Harmony in our local schools at that time.
This is a wonderful resource pack and the songs can be used as interactive music sessions with parents, corers, family members and their children.
Songs can be played numerous times for each interactive session.
Many thanks to Rosie for creating these lovely songs.
