Homework and Friday Folder Information

Reading Every Night

• The most important homework in kindergarten is to read for at least 15 minutes every night.

• Your child can:

  • Read to you

  • Listen to you read

  • Read with a sibling

  • Read to a pet or toy

  • Read quietly to themselves

  • All types of reading count!

Math Homework

• Your child will get a Homework and Practice Journal for math.

• This will stay at home all year.

• There is one homework page per lesson.

  • Each lesson takes 1 to 4 days to finish.

  • So, your child will not have math homework every night.

Important

• I will send home a weekly email stating what module and lessons we are on that week.

• You can do the pages of the lessons we are on that week.

• You DO NOT need to tear out pages and bring them in each time a lesson is completed.

• At the end of the year, you wil return the entire completed homework book.

Homework Folder

• • Our "homework" folder will be red.

  • You will find your child's Clever badge on this folder, so they can access it at home. 

  • More info about Clever can be found on the "Clever" tab.

  • Since you will not be tearing out homework pages and turning them in, this folder will be used to send home instructions for special projects, and bring them back to school.
