Tips and Tricks to help guide your child in a successful year of Kindergarten!

 Encourage Independence

Let your child try things on their own: getting dressed, putting on shoes, using the bathroom, opening lunch containers, cleaning up, etc. It might take a little longer (and get a little messy!), but every bit of practice builds confidence, and a confident kiddo has such an easier time at school. 

 Give Them Small Jobs or Tasks

Kids light up when they feel helpful! Let your child take on small jobs at home: putting away toys, feeding the pet, carrying and putting away their own backpack, helping set the table. These little moments build big responsibility, and your child will walk into our classroom already feeling capable and proud.

 Read, Talk, and Discover Together

Curl up with a favorite book, chat about your day, sing silly songs, ask questions, and really listen to your child's ideas (even the wild ones!). These small everyday moments are where a love of learning quietly takes root.

 Practice Friendship Skills

Taking turns, sharing, listening, and using kind words, these are big kindergarten skills, and playtime at home is the perfect place to practice them!

Every bit of independence, responsibility, and kindness you nurture at home is a gift to our classroom family. I can't wait to watch your child grow and shine this year, I am so glad to have you all with us! This year is going to be amazing! 🥰
