Dear K-5 Challenge to Excellence Families,
Welcome to my latest STEM/STEAM newsletter! We're excited to share the incredible projects and learning experiences your children have been engaged in over the past month. Let's dive into the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics!
Second Grade: First Week of School Expectations and Introductions
Third Grade: First Week of School Expectations and Introductions
Fourth Grade: First Week of School Expectations and Introductions
Fifth Grade: First Week of School Expectations and Introductions
We are starting the school year by emphasizing digital citizenship in grades K to 5 and maintaining a healthy balance among screen time, offline activities, Internet safety, and navigating the proper use of AI in the upper elementary grades 3 to 5.
K–5 Back-to-School Night: Wednesday, August 26, at 5:00 p.m.
Specials will be meeting in the Music Room on the stage.
STEM, Music, Art, and P.E. will all be there, so please stop by and say hello!
We're always looking to restock our makerspace area. If you have any empty toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, cereal boxes, egg cartons, bubble wrap, corks, or Legos that need a new home, please send them to the STEM lab. Remember: Reduce, recycle, reuse, and build cool things!
Thank you for your continued support of our STEM program. If you have any questions or would like to get involved, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Happy inventing!
Mrs. Julie Stewart

All students are required to have headphones or corded earbuds. They are needed for ALL classrooms, including STEM/STEAM. Please ensure that your child has this essential piece of equipment to complete work in my class when needed.
Full headphones work best for lower elementary (K-3), as earbuds fall out for them. Upper elementary (4-5) may use corded earbuds or full headphones.
