At C2E, we believe all of us will learn. It is our responsibility to always teach and see through the eyes of the children we serve. Our core values align with this philosophy, and therefore, we believe that students, no matter how many times they make a mistake, should always learn from their choices and strive to never repeat them. That being said, children develop differently at each age, and that needs to be taken into account when making decisions about discipline and consequences. Our approach needs to be grounded in positivity, seeking to understand, and recognizing that each behavior has many facets to it. Reacting negatively to a student’s choice should never be our approach.
C2E uses School-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) a proactive, team-based framework for creating and sustaining safe and effective schools. Emphasis is placed on the prevention of problem behavior, the development of pre-social skills, and the use of data-based problem-solving for addressing existing behavior concerns. Schoolwide PBIS increases the capacity of schools to educate all students utilizing research-based school-wide, classroom, and individualized interventions.
